Roselle Middle School (RMS) houses approximately 230 sixth, seventh and eighth grade students. Many of the students attending are of the second generation to attend Roselle Middle. RMS is one of five elementary school districts whose students attend Lake Park High School. Roselle Middle School is a great place to learn. National, State and local assessments indicate that our students meet or exceed standards in their performance. RMS, an Illinois Honor Roll School, has earned an Academic Excellence Award in both 2009 and 2010.Academic Excellence Awards recognize schools that have sustained very high academic performance over at least three years. At least 90% of students met or exceeded state standards in both reading and mathematics for at least 3 consecutive years. RMS consistently achieves Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP). This success is attributed to the partnership of an involved parent community and a dedicated group of professional educators. The curriculum at Roselle Middle School includes the five core subjects of Reading, Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Exceptional students are identified to complete a rigorous two-year math program at the middle school level. Upon completion of the program, students may qualify for Geometry as freshman at Lake Park High School. Art, Music, Technology, Health and Physical Education are also critical to the educational experience of each student at RMS. Students are encouraged to participate in a variety of extra-curricular activities including sports, band, chorus and Student Council.
