The Physical Education Department here at Spring Hills elementary has made a commitment to prepare students to live healthy, productive and physically active lives. Students will be provided with a variety of challenges that will contribute to the development and the maintenance of their physical, cognitive and affective well being. Physical education will provide them with the foundation for making informed decisions that will empower the students to achieve and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is a lifelong process that involves not just the school and the student, but requires the involvement of the home, district as well as the community. Some of the skills and units that we cover in our curriculum are movement skills, team building, fitness education, striking with or without equipment, throwing and catching skills and many more. Quality Physical Education is essential for the students especially K-5.
